Karmiotissa will host Omonia tomorrow (Oct. 9, 7:00 p.m.) at the “Stelios Kyriakides” Stadium, in the match that kicks off the 5th round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan.
Speaking on the official channel, Alexis Garpozis discussed the benefits of the break, as well as how the Polemidia-based team is preparing for tomorrow’s match.
The Cypriot coach emphasized that his team “invests” in these kinds of games, aiming to field a competitive squad.
Here are his comments in detail:
On how beneficial the break was: “We were waiting for some players who weren’t ready before the break. I believe we’re on the right track. Our goal tomorrow is to put out a competitive team, just like in our previous games. It’s the toughest of the five games we’ve played so far. We’re facing a full-strength, experienced team that’s a contender for the championship. But the goal remains the same: to be competitive and get as much as we can out of tomorrow’s game.”
On tomorrow’s match against Omonia: “We put everything on the line in games like this. We have everything to gain from tomorrow’s game. Of course, we’re playing against a team that’s better than us—perhaps even the best team in Cyprus. However, as I’ve said before—and as I’ve been saying since the start of the season—our goal is to be competitive. Now, if we manage to pick up points, that will be a double cause for celebration for us.”
