Bordeaux will definitely compete in France’s sixth division (Regional 1) this season, as the organizing body confirmed on Thursday.
The board of the Ligue de Football Nouvelle-Aquitaine met and gave the “green light” for the “Girondins” to compete in the sixth division. This development came two days after the regional league oversight committee issued a positive opinion, which had reviewed the club’s restart plan and the funding for its budget for this season.
Bordeaux has been placed in Group 2 of Regional 1, and its first official game of the season is on October 16 against Aviron Bayonne.
