With a vision of a cleaner Cyprus, Henkel Consumer Brands, in collaboration with ALFAMEGA Supermarkets, carried out two major cleanup initiatives on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, as part of the Dixan program “Clean Deep, Clean at the Source.” The initiatives took place at Tsiflikoudia Beach in Limassol, where specialized divers cleaned the seabed, while volunteer employees from both companies cleared the beach of debris.
More specifically, the specialized team of divers “dived deep” to remove debris that had settled on the seabed, such as fishing nets and plastics that were polluting the sea and releasing microplastics.
At the same time, guided by the slogan “Together, Cleaner,” 20 volunteers from Henkel and ALFAMEGA Supermarkets, along with Tasos Tryfonos, collected trash from the beach and the area’s natural habitat. In total, over 360 kilograms of trash were collected. Both initiatives were carried out with the support and coordination of the nonprofit organization AKTI, as representatives of the organization guided the volunteers and everyone worked together to collect the trash.
In his remarks, Mr. Nikos Tsantilas—a member of the Marketing Department at Henkel Consumer Brands GR&CY—stated: “It is with great pleasure that we are back in Cyprus this year as part of Dixan’s environmental program, ‘Clean Deep, Clean at the Source.’ For the third consecutive year, in collaboration with ALFAMEGA Supermarkets, we’ve joined forces with a shared message “Cleaner Together” and carried out yet another volunteer cleanup initiative. This time, we gathered in the Tsiflikoudia area of Limassol, where volunteers from Henkel and ALFAMEGA Supermarkets helped clean up the coastal area, removing a total of over 360 kilograms of trash. With the support of a specialized team of divers, the seabed in the area was also cleaned. Our message remains simple and clear: “Cleaner Together,” because through partnerships like this one, we demonstrate that when we join forces, we can bring about meaningful change for the environment. Dixan’s “Clean Deep, Clean at the Source” has now been running for 7 years in Cyprus, having helped remove more than 10 metric tons of waste. Guided by this track record, we remain steadfast in our commitment to protecting the environment and creating a cleaner and more sustainable future.”
In turn, Ms. Natasa Konstantinidi, Director of Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility at ALFAMEGA Hypermarkets, stated: “Protecting the environment is a collective responsibility and an integral part of ALFAMEGA Hypermarkets’ philosophy. Our ongoing partnership with Henkel demonstrates that when companies, organizations, and volunteers join forces, they can achieve tangible and meaningful results. The removal of more than 360 kilograms of waste from the beach, the habitat, and the seabed in the Tsiflikoudia area is an important step toward a cleaner Cyprus. We remain steadfast in our support for initiatives that raise environmental awareness and help create a more sustainable future for everyone.”

We bring together local volunteer organizations, environmental and cultural groups, as well as local government, and together we clean up plastic from the seas, coasts, and parks—which serve as the lungs of the ecosystem.
