Work is currently underway to replace the aging water supply network in downtown Limassol, with a total budget of approximately €9.2 million, with the goal of upgrading the city’s water supply infrastructure and creating a modern water distribution network with a total length of approximately 100 kilometers.
According to an announcement by the Limassol Water Authority, work began in July 2026 and involves an extensive network that will be developed across 220 streets, serving a population of approximately 40,000 residents.
The project is part of the strategy to upgrade Limassol’s water supply infrastructure and has secured funding from the European Union’s Cohesion Fund, through the THALIA Program 2021–2027.
According to the Limassol District Local Government Organization, the contractor’s crews are currently working on roads south of the Fire Station on Makarios III Avenue and east of the Garyllis River.
