*Press Release

A meeting between the leaderships of DIPA and Direct Democracy Cyprus took place today in a particularly warm atmosphere at the offices of the Democratic Party, led by the presidents of the two parties, Marios Karoyian and Fidias Panagiotou.

During the meeting, issues of concern to our society and our country were discussed, and it was determined that there is room for mutual understanding and the development of meaningful cooperation. Both sides agreed to continue the dialogue, with the aim of identifying common approaches and promoting proposals that can help address the problems faced by citizens.

In this context, the Democratic Party of Cyprus (DIPA) will forward to the Direct Democracy of Cyprus a series of proposals and recommendations that it had drafted and submitted during the previous parliamentary session, with the aim of utilizing them in parliamentary proceedings to help advance solutions to issues of concern to citizens.

The President of DIPA emphasized the importance of continuing an active political presence and contributing to issues of concern to society, with the President of Direct Democracy agreeing, while expressing regret that DIPA did not secure representation in the House of Representatives.

At the same time, Mr. Karoyan wished Direct Democracy of Cyprus every success, expressing his hope that it would continue to engage in creative activities. As Mr. Karoyan pointed out, the meeting marks the beginning of a positive period, free from dogmatism, ideological obsessions, and pettiness. Both Presidents emphasized that, despite any differences, the important issues concerning the country and its citizens can serve as a basis for understanding and joint action.

Politics acquires real substance when it transcends dividing lines and produces solutions. DIPA will continue to put forward proposals, seek partnerships, and actively contribute to public dialogue, guided solely by the best interests of society and Cyprus.
