In a message marking the launch of PAOK FC’s initiative for a three-day international academic conference titled “100 Years of PAOK, Soccer and Society,” emphasized how important it will be for the organization to gradually grow stronger so that future generations can inherit it even stronger than it has become in modern times.

“It is our duty to pass on to future generations an even stronger club—a club with its own infrastructure and its own new home,” he noted, adding:

“I am convinced that the plans we have set out can only be realized through the cooperation and unity of all members of the great PAOK family.”

Regarding the 100th-anniversary celebration, as well as the Club’s future, Ivan Savvidis stated: “The first 100 years showed who we are; the next ones will show how high we are capable of reaching—and we will certainly achieve them. By honoring our past, we will forge our own future, and we will not be afraid of it. PAOK must fear nothing and no one.”

He made special mention of PAOK’s refugee roots, emphasizing that these experiences shaped the club’s DNA and the bond that is passed down from generation to generation, along with faith and devotion to the ideals of its founders.

In his acknowledgments, he acknowledged the administration and staff of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Macedonia for their support of the initiative and their contribution to the organization of the event. He also expressed his gratitude to the Greek scientific community, the international participants, the speakers, and the audience, noting that the response exceeded initial expectations.

“PAOK is truly one big family, and today we can say with certainty that the scientific community is now a new member of our family, and I am proud of that,” he concluded.
