The international break is over, and action is resuming in all leagues, with the Premier League taking center stage—and rightly so—as Matchday 6 has two major derbies in store for us.
On Saturday afternoon (October 10, 7:30 p.m.), Manchester United will host Tottenham in a showdown where a win is a must for both teams. After five matches, the “Red Devils” have managed to accumulate just five points, with Michael Carrick’s job on the line. Meanwhile, the “Spurs” are in an even worse position, sitting at the bottom of the table with two points and a goal difference of 2-8.
The big match of the round, of course, is scheduled for Sunday (10/11, 7:30 p.m.), with Anfield set to host the highly anticipated clash between Liverpool and Manchester City. The two teams are expected to put on a thrilling match, with the result holding particular significance for the rest of the season.
The “Reds” are still trying to find their footing under the guidance of Antoni Iraola, seeking stability and improved performance. On the opposing side, City sits atop the standings with 15 points, but they are facing a backlash following the 114 charges on which they were found guilty, with the case continuing to spark intense debate in English soccer.
