Bayern Munich dropped two valuable points at Augsburg, as the two teams played to a 2-2 draw in the 5th matchday of the Bundesliga. Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen celebrated a spectacular 4-3 away victory over Mainz in a thrilling match full of twists and turns.

Vincent Kompany’s team failed to come away with the three points from Augsburg’s home field, paying the price for defensive mistakes and a lack of focus at critical moments. In fact, the home team opened the scoring just six seconds into the game, following a serious mistake by Manuel Neuer, who found himself at the center of criticism.

Bayern tried to respond and found the back of the net twice, with Saibari in the 50th minute and Brown in the 80th. However, Augsburg did not allow the Bavarians to secure the victory, holding on to the 2-2 tie until the final whistle and forcing them to drop points.

A seven-goal thriller with Leverkusen coming out on top

In one of the most exciting matches of the round, Bayer Leverkusen prevailed 4-3 on the road against Mainz, reaffirming its offensive prowess.

The visitors got off to an impressive start and took a two-goal lead before the first ten minutes were up. Andrich opened the scoring in the 5th minute, while Sik extended his team’s lead.

Mainz, however, did not give up. Led by Sassi, who scored in the 33rd and 45th minutes, the home team tied the game and went into halftime with the score at 2-2.

In the second half, Leverkusen regained control and scored twice within ten minutes. Kwansa in the 55th minute and Diaby in the 65th gave the “Aspirins” a two-goal lead once again. Mainz pulled one back late in the game through Hölerbach, but couldn’t avoid the loss.

Stuttgart wins on the road, victory for Union – Hamburg pulls off a major upset

In the other matches, Stuttgart continued its winning streak, defeating Paderborn 2-0 on the road. Goals by Szabo and Frurich sealed the victory for the visitors.
