As if he’d ever… stop! Lionel Messi put on yet another show, just a few days after saying goodbye to the Argentine national team, leading Inter Miami to a 4-0 victory over D.C. United in MLS action.
The Argentine superstar scored two goals—in the 47th minute with a header and in the 60th minute with a brilliant individual effort—while his good friend, Luis Suárez, had scored the home team’s first two goals, in the 3rd and 39th minutes.
With these two goals, Messi reached 934 career goals, as well as 104 with Inter Miami in 118 appearances.
Inter Miami now has 49 points and, after 28 games, sits in second place in the Eastern Conference, 14 points behind Nashville.
