The issue of the illegal “Memorandum of Understanding” between Turkey and the illegal separatist entity in the occupied areas of the Republic of Cyprus, concerning the construction of an undersea natural gas pipeline, will be raised by Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kompos before his European counterparts on Monday in Luxembourg.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Kompos is traveling to Luxembourg today, where tomorrow, Monday, October 12, he will participate in the proceedings of the European Union (EU) Foreign Affairs Council (FAC).
According to the announcement, the Council’s agenda includes Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine and Russia’s escalating hybrid campaign against the EU. Foreign ministers will also exchange views on the latest developments and the situation in the Middle East, as well as the strategic importance of EU enlargement for European security.
In the context of the Foreign Affairs Council, the Foreign Minister will raise the issue of the illegal “Memorandum of Understanding” between Turkey and the illegal separatist entity in the occupied areas of the Republic of Cyprus, concerning the construction of an undersea natural gas pipeline, is added.
It is also noted that prior to the start of the Council’s proceedings, an informal working breakfast will be held to address the manipulation of information and interference by foreign actors (FIMI), as well as strategic communication campaigns.
