"The experience of the game was more important than the victory," emphasized Aris coach Artem Radkov, while Olympiacos coach Giorgos Kostis, said his team was the better side throughout the match, following the conclusion of the game at GSP Stadium, which saw the Limassol team emerge victorious 2-1.

Artyom Radzkov: “Congratulations to the entire Aris organization. It was an exciting game for the fans, full of intense emotions. It had almost everything. We still lack the experience to close out games like this. However, the way we secured the victory with 10 players is very encouraging. The experience gained from today’s match was even more important than the win itself. Olympiacos is also a good, well-organized team.

Sometimes you can play well and not win, or the opposite can happen. If we cared only about the score, it wouldn’t be good for the players’ development. We have a plan for the players’ development and we try to follow it closely. Beyond that, we take it one game at a time. I’m more satisfied with the effort of the players, who fought until the very end. I don’t think we’re showing a lack of confidence.”

Giorgos Kostis: “We were the better team throughout the match. We conceded two goals due to individual mistakes. We didn’t score on that classic chance with Kynigopoulos. We’ll take the performance and look ahead to the next game. Today we didn’t do ourselves justice; congratulations to our players for their effort. Let’s come out stronger from today’s result.

I’m not interested in the refereeing at all. We lost because of small tactical details; I don’t think the refereeing is to blame.”
