AEK went 3-0 at home in the Stoiximan Super League with an impressive goal differential of 12-0, following victories over Heraklis (4-0), Aris (5-0), and OFI (3-0).
“Enosis” has had a similar home start only once in its history, during the 1970–71 season, when it scored 14 goals and conceded 2 in its first three home games, with 2-0 wins over PAOK and Aegaleo and an 8-2 victory over Veria.
In fact, the “Yellow-and-Blacks” went on to win the championship that season, with Panionios finishing second, Panathinaikos third, Olympiacos seventh, and PAOK eighth.
The last time AEK had gone 3-0 without conceding a goal at home was in the 2001–02 season, though they had scored 8-0 in those matches. At that time, “Enosis” lost the championship to Olympiacos on a tiebreaker.
