The video of the traffic accident in Turkey that left 11 dead and 26 injured—when a truck crashed into a bus in the Akhisar region of Manisa—is shocking.
As seen in the video recorded by a traffic camera, the bus driver stopped shortly after a curve on the Gebze-Orhangazi-Izmir highway and, for reasons still unknown, began reversing.
As a result, a truck following behind was unable to brake in time and crashed into the bus with great force.
According to Turkish media, the 11 people who died while riding the bus were between the ages of 58 and 88, and the investigation is also focusing on whether they were wearing seat belts.
The three drivers—the two bus drivers and the truck driver—have been taken in for questioning. It appears they were wearing seat belts and were therefore uninjured.
All three drivers underwent breathalyzer tests, the results of which were negative.
