Today, October 12, 2026, marks exactly 40 years since our team’s first official match at the “Antonis Papadopoulos” Stadium.
It was the day Anorthosis Famagusta acquired its own temporary “home” in exile.
To mark this historic anniversary, Anorthosis Famagusta honored yesterday, before the start of the match against Paphos FC at “Freedom Antonis Papadopoulos,” the former members of the Board of Directors and the Construction Committee, Kostakis Hatzikakou and Akis Hatzikonstantis, who were among those who played a decisive role and led the effort to secure our team’s very own stadium.
Anorthosis also honored veteran soccer players Christakis Kittos and Kostas Fotis, honoring through them the generation of players who served our team with integrity during those difficult years and competed at the start of our new home while in exile.
