Panathinaikos is traveling abroad for the first time in this year’s EuroLeague, and its first game away from the “Telekom Center Athens” takes them to nearby Belgrade, but to Partizan’s very tough home court.
Zoc knows very well how tough things can get there and emphasized as the “Greens” departed:
“I’m expecting a good game. They’ve been playing very well at the start of the season. We’ll prepare to put on the best possible performance.
Personally, I know the atmosphere; the players know it too. There’s tremendous support from the Partizan fans. It’ll be good to see how we respond in our first away game.”
Badio: “We need to play good defense and build on that—we know the atmosphere we’ll be facing”
Badio emphasized the need for Panathinaikos to once again rely on defense in order to try to come away with a victory from Serbia and Partizan.
Here are his comments in detail:
On the game: “It will be a tough game at a difficult venue. We need to prepare well—which we’ve already done—and take the court to play our own game.”
On the factors that can lead to a victory against Partizan: “Just as we did in our last game, we need to play solid defense and build on that. I believe that focus will play a decisive role, as we’ll be playing at a very difficult venue.”
On the atmosphere the team can expect and whether Obradović has spoken to them about it: “The experienced players have already played there, and everyone knows what to expect. So even if Obradović hadn’t told us anything about the atmosphere, we already know what we’ll be facing.”
