Olympiacos will kick off its grueling week with an away game in Valencia (Oct. 13, 10:00 p.m.), with the team’s roster consisting of 16 players.
Giorgos Bartzokas highlighted Valencia’s three-point shooting, while also discussing his team’s improvement and their readiness for the challenging match in Spain.
Here are his comments:
On defense: “The truth is that we’re facing the EuroLeague’s top offense—the team that leads the league in three-pointers made and has four wins in four games. Anyone who watched Barcelona vs. Valencia can understand the speed at which they play. We need to adjust accordingly to secure the win.”
On readiness: “It’s not just about us. We’re far from the level of play we all imagine we’re capable of. We’re working to improve the team through the process—by watching video, playing games, and holding practices. We believe there’s room for improvement in our teamwork. There are so many games and so few practices that, unfortunately, we don’t have the opportunity to prepare as we’d like. Nevertheless, our goal is to win as many games as possible.
On whether he sees improvement: “Every player has his own habits, depending on how he’s learned to play, and that can’t change overnight. We can’t use the game against Kolossos as an example. Against Efes, Olympiacos was solid defensively, and that’s where we need to stay. What we’ll show in each game is still a question mark. Today we had individual training. I’m just as curious as you are to see the team’s improvement, which I believe will come.”
