Atalanta, living up to its status as the favorite, comfortably defeated Venezia 3-1 in the sixth matchday of Serie A, returning to winning ways and ending a three-game winless streak.
It took the home team just half an hour to score three goals. First, Kessie opened the scoring, and two minutes later, Krstović doubled his team’s lead. At the 30-minute mark, the Montenegrin forward scored his second goal, bringing the score to 3-0. The only thing the visitors managed to do was pull one back with a goal by Hainat in the 37th minute, setting the final score at 3-1.

With this victory, the Bergamo-based team returned to winning ways for the first time since August 31—when they had defeated Bologna 1-0—and climbed to nine points. On the other hand, the visitors, although they put up a fight today, do not appear ready to mount a serious challenge to avoid relegation and remain in last place in the standings with six losses in as many games.
As a reminder, Atalanta is Pafos’s first opponent in the opening match of the Conference League’s League Phase, with the game scheduled for this coming Thursday (Oct. 15, 10:00 p.m.) in Bergamo.
