With Manchester City’s punishment for the 114 financial violations still unknown, speculation about the severity of the penalty continues in England as everyone awaits the final decision.
The Premier League clubs’ committee, which consists of 15 clubs, has reached a consensus and is proposing the immediate relegation of the “Citizens” to the Championship, according to The Independent.
However, such a scenario seems almost utopian, as the same source notes, since even if this request is granted, the Manchester club will appeal to the Supreme Court, and the odds of the initial ruling being overturned are overwhelmingly in its favor.
However, nothing can be ruled out just yet, with everyone in England waiting day by day for the verdict on the “Citizens’” violations. There is a possibility that the decision will be handed down before Manchester City’s Champions League match against AEK (October 20).
