“Of course I’ll be there.” This was stated by the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, when asked by reporters whether he would travel to Antalya, Turkey, for the UN Climate Conference.
In remarks to reporters following his meeting with Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhurman, the President of the Republic noted that the Republic of Cyprus always attends these international conferences.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the positive outcome of the Republic of Cyprus’s diplomatic efforts and the contribution of its partners, which resulted in the Republic of Cyprus receiving an invitation despite Recep TayyipErdogan to prevent it.

“I am pleased with the decisive contribution of our partners, following our diplomatic and political efforts, away from the spotlight. We achieved results without fanfare, without publicity. This is a development that also sends messages regarding the Cyprus issue.”
While he stated that he is prepared for any development, responding to a related question about possible “surprises,” such as, for example, Erhurman’s presence in Antalya, Mr. Christodoulides also noted that he does not rule it out.
