"At the right time, he will reveal his plans regarding the 2028 presidential election," said Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letympiotis, speaking on the Alpha Kalimera program.
“I think we can all agree on the major challenges, the major issues facing society. Yes. I have the feeling that no one can disagree that, 16 months before the presidential election, the upcoming election cannot be the priority for all of us or for some of us.”

He notes that, at present, this is not what society is demanding.
“Every day I observe—and so do you—I assess, and I think in relation to society’s demands, because that is what this is about, and society is right to demand that the executive branch, the legislative branch, and the political authorities to properly prioritize their own agenda—how they rank their own priorities. Besides, I don’t think this is the right time—it’s not the right moment—to get into this discussion.”
“We remain committed to implementing the government’s agenda,” he concludes.
