Speaking on the “Alpha Kalimera” show, Andreas Chrysanthou, Press Spokesperson for the Meteorological Service, explained that when an orange warning is issued, the weather is considered particularly dangerous.
According to Mr. Chrysanthou, the districts of Paphos and Limassol will be the first to experience severe weather conditions. The orange warning, he notes, will be accompanied by heavy rain, thunderstorms, gusty winds, and hail. As emphasized in the warning, rainfall rates may exceed 55% per hour.
Mr. Chrysanthou emphasized that the storm will be particularly severe in coastal areas, in the west and south, adding that the rest of the country will also experience severe weather conditions. “We realize that it will be a difficult day, especially from this afternoon until tomorrow morning.”
