The severe weather conditions affecting Paphos have also caused disruptions to air travel, with a flight bound for the city’s airport being diverted to Larnaca.
The severe weather affecting parts of Cyprus has been ongoing since Wednesday afternoon, with the first problems reported in the Paphos district, where severe weather conditions are occurring.

The adverse weather conditions also affected air travel, as an aircraft that took off from Glasgow Airport, bound for Paphos Airport, was forced to change course and ultimately landed at Larnaca Airport.
At the same time, heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are being reported in Paphos, which have caused problems both on the road network and with the power supply in parts of the district.
It should be noted that an orange alert issued by the Department of Meteorology is in effect from 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday until 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, due to severe thunderstorms expected to affect parts of the island.
