The resumption of the league did not put Anorthosis on a winning streak, as “Lady” suffered a 1-3 home loss to Paphos, continuing its poor run at the start of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan.
Nestor El Maestro’s team has just one win in its first four matches—against APOEL—a record that keeps it low in the standings. Specifically, the Famagusta-based team is in second-to-last place in the standings, having earned just three points.

Now, the margin for error is shrinking, with the next two matches taking on particular importance both in terms of points and the team’s morale. Anorthosis must bounce back, seek positive results, and turn things around to avoid drifting even further from its goals.
In Matchday 6, “The Lady” will travel to Peristerona to face Omonia 29 May, on Saturday, October 18, at 7:00 p.m., while on October 24, also at 7:00 p.m., it will host Omonia Aradippou.
These are two crucial matches for the rest of the season, in which Anorthosis must earn points and regain its confidence. The results of these matches are expected to play a significant role in the Barosiot team’s progress and efforts to achieve its goals in this year’s marathon season.
