Giannis Antetokounmpo appeared particularly pleased with the team’s current form heading into the start of the regular season, following the Heat’s 144-128 victory over the Nets.
The Greek superstar nearly recorded a triple-double with 20 points, 15 rebounds, and 9 assists in just 24 minutes and made it clear that the more playing time he gets, the better he’ll feel on the court. “I think the more I play, the more comfortable I’ll feel. But I’m fine. I’m in a good place—a very good place,” he said.
Antetokounmpo also highlighted Ryan Conwell, who continues to make a positive impression in the preseason. The 22-year-old was selected 37th overall in this year’s draft, with the Heat making a move to trade up and draft him in the second round, and against the Nets, he scored 13 points and had two steals.
Giannis didn’t hide his enthusiasm for what he’s seen so far from his young teammate. “He’s a good player. A very good player—he takes guidance and makes the right choices. He’ll have a great future in this league,” he said, adding: “I’m excited. I can’t wait to play with him.”
