A 54-year-old woman who was arrested in Thessaloniki had more than 100 dogs—and even some goats—in her home.
The woman was handcuffed on Wednesday afternoon, following an altercation with a 35-year-old woman from Algeria, during which she threatened her, prompting the police to arrive at the scene.
In a subsequent investigation, officers from the Thermi Police Department determined that the 54-year-old woman kept approximately 120 dogs, 70 cats, and about 10 goats, without providing them with comfortable, hygienic, and suitable housing, thereby violating animal welfare regulations.
Charges have been filed against her for threats and violation of animal welfare laws, and she will be brought before the prosecutor.
