FIFA has imposed a transfer ban on Aris.
The world soccer federation imposed the ban on the Thessaloniki club due to its debt to Hermann Burgos, who served as the team’s head coach from February through the end of August 2022.
Aris has already paid €1,200,000 to the Argentine coach, whose side continues to press for payment of the remaining €75,000, which constitutes the final outstanding installment that was not paid within the specified timeframe.
The two sides have been embroiled in a legal dispute for some time, following an appeal by the former coach of the “Yellows” to FIFA, which awarded him €670,000 in the case concerning his brief tenure on the bench of the Thessaloniki team.
Since then, Aris has been repaying the debt in installments, having covered most of it so far, while the club must settle this outstanding matter by January in order to regain its transfer rights.
