The Standing Committee on Violence (DEAB) summoned both Olympiacos and the team’s coach, Imanol Alguacil, to a hearing.

The Standing Committee on Violence summoned the “red-and-white” soccer club to a hearing due to the two banners displayed at the “G. Karaiskakis” Stadium during the historic derby against Panathinaikos in the 6th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League, which ended in a 1-0 victory for the home team.

One banner was displayed by the organized supporters of the “Red-and-Whites” as the two teams entered the field, while the second was located in the center of the field. At the same time, the Basque coach was summoned for a hearing, as he had posted the first banner on his personal social media account.

The full text of the DEAB announcement reads:

“It summons Olympiacos FC to a hearing on October 20, 2026, regarding
a) an alleged instance of incitement to provoke incidents,

b) alleged racist behavior related to sports, within a sports facility—

acts that are alleged to have taken place during the match between Olympiacos FC and – Panathinaikos AO, on October 11, 2026, at the “G. Karaiskakis” Stadium, for the 2026–2027 Super League season, following the display by fans of

i) a choreographed banner depicting a violent scene from a previous match between the two teams, in which an Olympiacos player is shown pinning a Panathinaikos player to the ground, a Panathinaikos player trapped between his legs, as well as a banner placed near the choreography that read “Use your brain, you green c***,

” b) by displaying another banner that read “BUT DEEP DOWN, THEY’RE ALL GAY” (the word “GAY” in green), which allegedly uses sexual orientation as a means of mockery.

Pursuant to Article 1 of Law 4326/2015, as amended and in force by Article 104 of Law 5224/2025.

Summons the coach of the Olympiacos FC, ALGUACIL BARRENECHEA JOCEBA IMANOL, to a hearing on October 20, 2026, regarding an alleged incident of incitement to provoke disturbances, which is alleged to have taken place shortly after the conclusion of the match between Olympiacos FC and SPF – Panathinaikos AO, on October 11, 2026, at the “G. Karaiskakis” Stadium, for the 2026–2027 Super League season,
by repeatedly posting on social media (Instagram) of the choreographed display that, as previously stated, Olympiacos fans had posted during the match—which allegedly incites incidents against the visiting team’s fans, as this photograph appears to clearly imply the use of violence against them.
