Friends and relatives will bid farewell to 32-year-old Aphrodite Georgiou, who “passed away” at a private clinic in Limassol, where she had been hospitalized following an accident she was involved in on September 2, 2026.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17, at 12:00 p.m. at the Holy Church of the Holy Cross in Agios Therapontas.
The family will not be accepting condolences, and those attending are asked to wear white.
The 32-year-old had suffered a head injury and a nosebleed. After about a month and a half in the hospital, she passed away at the private clinic where she was being treated.
It was around 8:50 a.m. on September 2, 2026, when the 32-year-old was crossing Aesop Street in Limassol, heading west. Under circumstances that are under investigation, she was struck by a vehicle driven by a 65-year-old woman heading north.
The legally mandated autopsy on her remains was performed today by Medical Examiner Nikola Charalambous, and according to reports, it did not reveal the exact cause of death. Samples were taken from the 32-year-old’s body and sent for histopathological testing.
A well-informed source told AlphaNews.Live that during her hospitalization at the private clinic, the 32-year-old experienced a rapid deterioration in her health, resulting in her being intubated by the attending physicians.
