Third consecutive day of rain: When does the meteorological service expect the weather to change?

Temperatures are expected to rise in the coming days
ALPHANEWSLIVE

A low-pressure system will affect the region through tomorrow, while a weak high-pressure system is expected to gradually move in starting Sunday.

Today, the weather will be partly cloudy and at times overcast, while isolated showers may occur initially along the western and northern coasts, with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms. However, by noon, clouds will gradually build up, bringing scattered showers or even thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains, inland, and in the north. Winds will initially be variable and light, at 3 Beaufort, gradually shifting by noon to mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and along the southern and eastern coasts, moderate to strong and at times strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be generally slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to around 26 degrees inland and along the coast, and around 14 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

Tonight, there will be intermittent periods of increased local cloud cover, which is expected to bring isolated showers along the coast. Winds will continue to blow mainly from the southwest to northwest, light at 3 Beaufort, and temporarily moderate—3 to 4 Beaufort—on the windward coasts. The sea will remain generally slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 14 degrees inland, around 18 degrees along the coast, and around 8 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

On Saturday, the weather will be partly cloudy with locally and temporarily mostly cloudy conditions, while isolated showers are expected after noon, mainly in the mountains and the north. Gradually, by evening, the weather will become mostly cloudy with local showers and possibly isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the western half of the island.

On Sunday and Monday, the weather will be mostly clear, though there will be periods of increased local cloud cover.

Temperatures are not expected to change significantly through Monday, remaining below normal levels for this time of year.
