Olympiacos faced a tough challenge but ultimately emerged victorious from the derby at the “Palau Blaugrana”!
The “Red-and-Whites” held the lead throughout their away match against Barcelona, and although they saw the home team come back in the final minutes and force overtime, they kept their cool and relied on their X-Factor, Enzai, to secure a 105-100 victory!
Thus, Olympiacos improved its record to 5-1 and now turns its attention to the away game against the Vikos Falcons of Ioannina (Sunday, Oct. 18, 1:00 p.m.) for the third round of the Stoiximan GBL, and next week will host Fenerbahçe (Friday, October 23, 9:15 p.m.) at Sunel Arena to continue its EuroLeague campaign.
The MVP for Giorgos Bartzokas’s team was Vezhenkov, who finished the game with 25 points and 6 rebounds, while Enzai (17 pts, 7 reb), Miller-McIntyre (17 pts, 4 assists, 3 reb), and Montero (13 pts, 7 assists).
On the other hand, for Barcelona, which fell to 3-3, Robinson (17 pts, 6 assists) and Martin (17 pts, 7 reb.) stood out.
Quarter scores: 30-26, 47-57, 66-77, 92-92 (OT), 100-105.
