The expert appointed by the family, Mr. George Fitsialos, identified the following substances in the artist’s blood based on his analysis: olanzapine, aripiprazole, midazolam, flumazenil, lidocaine, cocaine, benzoylecgonine, and propofol.
Olanzapine: An atypical antipsychotic medication used primarily to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Aripiprazole: An atypical antipsychotic drug used primarily to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Midazolam: A potent sedative and hypnotic drug in the benzodiazepine class. It is used for sedation, anesthesia, and the treatment of seizures.
Flumazenil: An antidote to benzodiazepines. It is used to reverse the sedative effects of drugs such as midazolam.
Lidocaine: A local anesthetic used to induce local anesthesia.
Cocaine: A potent central nervous system stimulant.
Benzoylecgonine: The primary metabolite of cocaine. Its detection is an important toxicological marker of prior exposure to cocaine.
Propofol: A potent, fast-acting, short-acting intravenous sedative and hypnotic drug, which is used to induce and maintain general anesthesia or to provide sedation during medical procedures
The director of DNAlogy Laboratories, Dr. George Fitsialos, emphasized in a statement to protothema.gr that “a comprehensive toxicological screening of 1,600 substances was conducted. The significant findings from the analysis are propofol, midazolam, and flumazenil. These three findings describe with a high degree of certainty what happened that day at the clinic on Karneadou Street in Kolonaki.”
It should be noted that the results of the histological and toxicological tests from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki laboratories are expected in the coming days.
