A 47-year-old woman in Thessaloniki reported that she had endured moments of horror at the hands of her partner, who beat and sexually assaulted her.
The case came to the attention of the authorities on Friday afternoon, when patrol officers from the Lagkada Police Department saw the woman, who was with her partner outside the car, and realized she was in distress and was signaling to them.

The officers rushed to the scene to determine what was happening and escorted them to the police station. There, the woman reported that her 46-year-old partner had beaten her earlier that day, both in the apartment building where they live and inside his car. She also reported that the day before, the 46-year-old had attacked her and committed sexual assault against her will.
The 46-year-old, originally from Albania, was arrested and charged with violating domestic violence laws, rape, and unlawful detention.
The preliminary investigation into the case is being conducted by the Kordelio–Evosmos Crime Investigation and Prosecution Department.
