The Stoiximan GBL league continues in full swing, with the favorites fighting their own battles in a season where competition is particularly fierce and the balance of power remains delicate.
In the third round, the two “eternal rivals” went head-to-head, with Olympiacos traveling all the way to Ioannina to face the Vikos Falcons, while Panathinaikos hosted Peristeri.
The “Red-and-Whites,” coming off two impressive road wins in Spain—against Valencia (97–102 in overtime) and Barcelona (100–105) in the EuroLeague, also defeated the Vikos Falcons 79–68, continuing their winning streak.
Meanwhile, Panathinaikos, following a home loss to Hapoel Tel Aviv in the EuroLeague (81-91), bounced back and decisively defeated Peristeri 95-75, going 3-0 in the Stoiximan GBL.
PAOK remains undefeated in the league and sits alone at the top of the standings, as Panathinaikos and Olympiacos both started the season with a -2 point deficit. The “Double-Headed Eagle of the North” narrowly defeated Kolossos Rhodes (84-88), returning to winning ways after their 95-86 European loss to Panevėžys.
All three teams remain undefeated, with PAOK maintaining the lead in the standings and its two major rivals trailing behind, having closed part of the initial gap.
