An injury forced Kostas Fortounis to be substituted early in yesterday’s match between Olympiacos and Panetolikos in Agrinio (0-2), but in the 38 minutes he played, he managed to make history.
He made his 352nd appearance in all competitions with the “Red-and-Whites” and climbed to seventh place on the all-time list, surpassing the great Nikos Anastopoulos.
The 34-year-old star, who has 94 goals and 107 assists with the Piraeus club, has made 235 league appearances, 77 in Europe, and 40 in the Cup.
Fortounis could surpass sixth-place Giorgos Anatolakis (364) and fifth-place Giorgos Sideris (365) this season. At the top, with 500 appearances, is Koulis Karataidis, followed by Predrag Đorđević with 493, while third is Kostas Polychroniu with 439 and fourth is Giannis Gaitatzis with 438.
