The match between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona for the third matchday of the Champions League group stage is scheduled to take place as planned.
Today, French authorities—specifically the country’s prime minister, Sébastien Lecornu, emphasized that despite the unrest and clashes between police and protesters in Paris and many other cities across the country, there is no intention to cancel the match.
He stated that the necessary steps have already been taken and that both precautionary and security measures have been implemented for the teams and fans, and that there is no reason to change anything regardingregards the normal conduct of the match.
Another key factor is that the match has been classified as low-risk by UEFA and the Paris police authorities.
At the same time, plans have been made to establish security zones around the stadium, which will make the match even safer.
