“Zivkovic is considering leaving PAOK—He wants the last big contract of his career”

According to mozzart

Andrija Živković is in his seventh season on PAOK’s roster; the Serbian is a key pillar of the “black-and-white” team, and the 30-year-old is already considered a modern-day legend of the club.

The team captain’s contract expires next summer and, according to Mozzart, Zivkovic is seriously considering the possibility of leaving his beloved Thessaloniki after many years with the club.

The Serbian’s goal is to secure the last major contract of his career, and, according to reports from his home country, he believes that PAOK cannot meet his financial demands. Starting in January, Zivkovic will be free to negotiate with any team he wishes in order to move as a free agent this summer, provided that talks with PAOK do not reach a positive conclusion.

Here is the Mozzart report in detail:

“The Serbian international has not yet extended his contract with the Thessaloniki club, and starting in January, he will be able to negotiate with other suitors.

Andrija Živković is not only PAOK’s captain but also the most important player in the Greek League this season. In 12 matches across all competitions, he has scored three goals and provided five assists, two of which came on Sunday against Heraklis (2-1). That’s why fans of the Thessaloniki team are justifiably worried that they’ll be left without the Serbian international at the end of the season.

Because, if things don’t change, Zivkovic could leave PAOK as a free agent next summer. In fact, he may begin negotiations with interested teams as early as January.

Some lesser-known Greek news sites (so this information should be taken with a grain of salt) claim that two Athens-based clubs, Panathinaikos and AEK, are waiting to see how the situation plays out. They believe they could sign the player, who will turn 31 next summer.

Zivkovic arrived in Thessaloniki in September 2020 from Benfica on a free transfer. Then, in 2023, he extended his contract and agreed to stay for another four seasons.

Now, after 288 appearances and 69 goals—during which he won one Greek league title and one Greek Cup—Zivkovic has high financial demands. His plan is to secure at least one more lucrative contract before the end of his career, but PAOK is not yet certain whether it is prepared to meet his demands.

Certainly, Zivkovic’s greatest strength is his performance on the field. Since the start of the season, he has been consistently outstanding; in the Greek Super League, he has accounted for 40% of the black-and-whites’ goals directly through goals and assists. The only problem is that following the team’s elimination from Conference League qualification by Brann—specifically, the league losses to Panathinaikos and Kalamata (both 1-3)— a movement emerged in Thessaloniki calling for a complete overhaul—that is, a revitalization of the team. And that is why Zivkovic has not yet received a specific offer for a new contract.”
