Evan Fournier spoke about Giorgos Bartzokas’s life away from the spotlight.
“It’s everyday life that defines a relationship, and Coach Bartzokas’s daily interactions with his players are very different from what people see during games.
He’s a very simple and gentle man who cares about his players and is genuinely interested in them.
Of course, when he’s on the bench, things get intense, but that’s the case with most coaches. It’s part of the game and the way coaches generally behave.
That, however, doesn’t change the relationship he has with his players. He has a lot of fire and passion for his team, for Olympiacos, and that’s what makes him react that way on the court.
It has nothing to do, however, with the team’s day-to-day routine or his relationship with the players. After all, the coach is the authority within the team and must, in a way, set an example and assert himself,” stressed the French guard/forward for Olympiacos on Magenta TV’s “Pick n Roll” show.
