A 45-year-old Greek Cypriot was arrested for the kidnapping and beating of a Turkish Cypriot in Limassol, while the 30-year-old who had been arrested earlier in connection with the same case was ultimately not identified by the victim.
It should be noted that the incident occurred on October 16, 2026, in Limassol, when the young Turkish Cypriot was allegedly abducted from a park in the Agios Antonios area by three men, who then forced him into a vehicle and transported him to a deserted location. There, according to his allegations, they beat him and stabbed him with a knife, as they considered him a suspect in recent dog-theft cases.
Specifically, and according to the 24-year-old, on October 16, around 7:00 p.m., while he was in an area of Limassol, three individuals approached him and asked him to get into their car. The 24-year-old did so, and the three suspects drove him to another area, where they attacked him. According to the 24-year-old’s report, one of the three suspects stabbed him in the right leg with a knife.
The perpetrators fled the scene, while the 24-year-old was found by a citizen, who helped him by taking him to Limassol General Hospital. He was admitted to Limassol General Hospital after it was determined that he had suffered a serious leg injury and underwent surgery. He was discharged on October 18.
However, according to the police, the young man initially told hospital staff that he had been injured in a car accident—a claim that has raised concerns among authorities.
Yesterday morning, Monday, he went to the Limassol CID offices, where he gave a lengthy statement regarding the perpetrators and their motives.
