Itzhaki in cyprus for anorthosis
During his coaching career, he served as interim coach for Maccabi Tel Aviv for 8 matches in 2021 and coached Beitar Jerusalem from 2024 until last May.
The official announcement: “Anorthosis Famagusta is pleased to announce the signing of coach Barak Itzhaki.
The 42-year-old Israeli coach is returning to the club, having played for our team as a player during the 2012–13 season. He is very familiar with the stature, history, and expectations of Anorthosis, the passion of its fans, and the weight of the club’s jersey—a club where he left behind fond memories during his time there.
After retiring from his playing career, he took on a role in the soccer department at Maccabi Tel Aviv, serving as Head of Football Operations from 2021 to 2023, and in 2021, he also served as the team’s interim head coach.
His major step into coaching came in February 2024 when he took over as head coach of Beitar Jerusalem, where he remained until June 2026, making a significant impact. After leading the team to a 4th-place finish in the 2024–25 season, he guided them to a 2nd-place finish the following year with 76 points (just three behind the league champion), and in October 2025, he celebrated his first title as a coach, winning the Toto Cup with a 2-1 victory over Hapoel Tel Aviv.
The Anorthosis family welcomes Barak Itzhaki and wishes him every success in his endeavors.”
