The agreement was signed on October 12, during the 5th Annual International Conference and Global Summit (AICGS 2026), hosted by LPU in Punjab, India, on October 12–14, 2026. The European University of Cyprus was represented by Professor Panos Papageorgis, Vice Rector for Research and External Affairs, and Maria Christodoulou, Coordinator of International Relations.
The Memorandum opens up opportunities for the mobility of students, faculty, and administrative staff, the development of joint research and academic initiatives, as well as the conclusion of academic exchange agreements for the transfer and recognition of academic credits between the two universities. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of more than 50 representatives of international academic leadership from various countries.

It is worth noting that LPU ranks fourth among Indian universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027. The conference brought together university representatives from around the world, focusing on the contribution of international collaborations to research, digital transformation, and inclusive education.
During the visit, the delegation from the European University of Cyprus also held meetings with the Pro Vice-Chancellor of LPU and representatives from the Mittal School of Business Administration, the Office of International Relations, the School of Industrial and Biosciences, the School of Computer Science and Engineering, and other academic departments. Discussions focused on areas of mutual interest and on opportunities to implement the agreement through specific academic initiatives.
This collaboration expands the European University of Cyprus’s international academic network, offering its students, as well as its academic and administrative staff, more opportunities for international educational experiences, knowledge exchange, and research.
