The Peace and Friendship Stadium announced that the Council of State had rejected the two requests for a stay of execution, a development that directly affects the progress of the project to upgrade the energy efficiency of its facilities.
The motions related, among other things, to the financing and implementation of the project, the program agreement with the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), and the bidding process.
According to a statement from the SEF’s legal department, the court ruled that no irreparable or difficult-to-remedy harm to the petitioners had been proven that would justify the suspension of the contested acts.
The stadium’s management emphasizes that it remains committed to moving the project forward, while respecting court decisions and established procedures.
The full announcement is as follows:
The Peace and Friendship Stadium announces that, pursuant to Decisions Nos. 186/2026 and 187/2026 of the Council of State’s Suspension Committee, both applications for a stay of execution filed against administrative acts related to the stadium’s energy retrofit project have been rejected.
The applications concerned acts related to the financing and implementation of the project, the Program Agreement between SEF and the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), as well as the competitive bidding process.
According to the legal department’s briefing, the Court ruled, among other things, that there was no evidence of irreparable or difficult-to-remedy harm to the petitioners that would justify suspending the implementation of the contested acts. Consequently, the specific requests to halt the works were denied.
The rejection of the two requests for a stay of execution represents a particularly positive legal development for the Peace and Friendship Stadium and the progress of the energy retrofit project.
The Stadium’s management remains committed to moving the project forward, while respecting court rulings and established procedures. Upgrading the infrastructure and improving the operation of the Peace and Friendship Stadium remain a constant priority, for the benefit of its athletes, employees, and visitors.”
