Olympiacos has a very limited history of matches against teams from the Czech Republic ahead of its clash with Sparta Prague. The “Red-and-Whites” have faced only one Czech team in official European competitions, and that was Viktoria Plzeň in the summer of 2019.
The two teams faced off in the second qualifying round of the Champions League. The first match, on July 23, 2019, in the Czech Republic, ended in a scoreless draw, with Olympiacos leaving with a 0-0 result and leaving the outcome open for the rematch at the “G. Karaiskakis” Stadium.
A week later, on July 30, Pedro Martins’ team put on an impressive performance and won 4-0, emphatically securing their advancement. Guilherme scored two goals, while Guerrero and Semedo also found the back of the net.
Thus, Olympiacos’ record against Czech clubs to date stands at one win and one draw, with a combined score of 4-0. Against Sparta Prague, the Piraeus-based team is now opening a new chapter in its brief European history against Czech teams.
