Konstantia Dimoglidou spoke on Alpha Greece about the months-long judicial investigation and the large sums of money that were uncovered in connection with the case that has rocked Greek basketball.
The Hellenic Police spokesperson emphasized that large sums of money had been found in the possession of all six suspects, and when asked about reports of 850,000 euros in cash, she emphasized that the total amount found exceeds that figure! Nevertheless, she did not specify how much money was found in each individual’s possession.
“A large sum of money has been found in total among the six arrested individuals. I don’t know, of course, the exact breakdown for each individual, but the total amount of cash found during the home searches exceeds the figure you mentioned.
Essentially, this is a months-long investigation that was initiated and carried out by the prosecutorial and investigative authorities. This led to the identification of the six individuals involved, the filing of criminal charges against them, and the issuance of arrest warrants.
Six arrest warrants were issued immediately, and within 24 hours— in effect, within a single day, were all executed by the Hellenic Police, and all six individuals involved are now in the custody of the police authorities,” Demoglidou stated, among other things.
Here is a detailed account of what the Hellenic Police spokesperson said.
