Olympiacos went 3-0 in the Europa League and, in doing so, took another step not only toward advancing to the knockout stage but also directly into the Round of 16.
According to Football Meets Data, following their 1-0 victory over Sparta Prague, the Piraeus-based team has the fourth-highest probability of qualifying as one of the top eight teams in the group stage. The “Red-and-Whites” have a 68.7% chance of finishing in the Top 8, a 99.8% chance of being among the 24 teams advancing to the knockout stage, and are projected to accumulate 17.1 points (they already have 9).

Three teams have higher percentages than Olympiacos: Benfica (94% chance of finishing in the top eight), Bournemouth (89.2%), and Leverkusen (85.7%). Imanol Alguacil’s team has increased its chances of finishing in the top eight of the League Phase by 13.1%.
OFI, following its second consecutive loss, a 0-2 loss to Leverkusen, has slipped to 29th place in terms of its chances of finishing in the Top 24, with 27.8%, while its chances of finishing in the Top 8 stand at just 0.3%. Christos Kontis’s team is projected to earn 7.2 points (it already has 3).
