AEL is at the top of the standings after the first six matchdays and is preparing for the local derby against Aris (10/25 – 7:00 p.m.), aiming to continue its strong run.
Despite the significant losses of Gomis and Čataković from the season opener, Hugo Martins’ team showed character and found solutions. The heavy defeat to APOEL was an exception, but the management stood by the Portuguese coach, and so far, their decision has been vindicated.

Against Aris, the “Lions” must maintain the same level of focus, as the speed and attacking quality of Artem Radzhkov’s team demand special attention.
On the field, João Tavares is back, while Bruno Almeida is nearing his return. Luther Singh and Joffrey also sent positive signals, having stood out in the previous match, while Stevan Jovetić continues to be a key figure in the attack.
