Anagennisi Deryneia, Anorthosis, and Kuutio Homes Pafos were the winners in the quarterfinal matches of the newly established “Giorgos Dimitriou” Men’s Volleyball League Cup “Giorgos Dimitriou” and advanced to the next round of the tournament.
In the match broadcast on RIK HD and online via AlfaSports.tv, Anagennisi Deryneia defeated the home team, Phoinikas Pyla, 0-3 (21-25, 16-25, 18-25), in a match that held special significance and symbolism: With the support of KOPE, a match of this caliber was hosted for the first time by the Pyla team, which is returning to the top division this year after a 30-year absence. Furthermore, the new League Cup competition is dedicated to the memory of the former President of Foinikas and bears his name, in recognition of his contributions to the sport.

U-19 youth cup: The schedule for the first round
Since the APOEL–AE Karava quarterfinal was not played, Anagennisi Deryneia will have no opponent in the semifinals and advances directly to the “Giorgos Dimitriou” League Cup final “Giorgos Dimitriou,” which, according to the announcement, will also be held at the Pyla Indoor Arena on Friday, October 30.
The most exciting match of the evening took place at “Themistokleio,” where the home team, Anorthosis Famagusta, put on a great performance and defeated Omonia 3-1 in sets (26-28, 27-25, 25-23, 25-22) despite trailing early, staging a comeback after a hard-fought battle in every set.
Meanwhile, Kuutio Homes Paphos prevailed 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-20) over NCMA Nea Salamina at the “Aphrodite,” in a match that served as a tough preseason test for last year’s Cypriot champions ahead of their crucial rematch against Croatia’s Mladost in the CEV Champions League.
