The Bulls came away with a victory in Milwaukee. With a 132-125 win, the Chicago team left the “Fiserv Forum” with their first victory (1-1) of this season’s championship. The Bucks have two losses in as many games.
The home team was the better side overall in the first half but closed it out with just a one-point lead (62-61). The visitors, however, dominated the second half, scoring 71 points.
The Bulls had a balanced offensive attack, with seven players scoring in double figures; Powell led the way with 25 points, while Smith had 14 points and 13 rebounds. Hiro’s 34 points weren’t enough for the home team.
The game was decided in the closing moments, with the visitors pulling ahead on two free throws by Wilson to make it 124–123 with 1:16 remaining, and shortly after, with another pair of free throws, he put his team up by 3 following a steal by Jones. A similar sequence led to a +5 lead, effectively ending the game, before Wilson sank the clinching free throw at the end.
