King Abdullah II of Jordan, wearing his military uniform, visited the hospital to see the wounded victims of the terrorist attack on the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George in Karak, which took place on Friday and resulted in seven deaths.

In a statement, the King condemned the attack and promised harsh retaliation against those responsible.
The attack occurred when gunmen stormed the Greek Orthodox church in the village of Hamoud, in the Karak district, and opened fire, killing seven and wounding dozens.
The Greek Orthodox church is located about 180 kilometers (110 miles) south of the capital, Amman. The gunmen got out of a vehicle and began shooting during a funeral, according to a statement from the Public Security Directorate, adding that a manhunt is underway to locate the perpetrators.
“The terrorist attack against Karak will be met with the harshest retaliation,” King Abdullah II stated in an English-language post on the X platform. “We will strike with an iron fist against those who dare to threaten our nation.”

Meanwhile, footage broadcast by the Al-Mamlaka network captured the moment of the attack. In the footage, two gunmen can be seen, dressed in everyday clothes and holding pistols, while a third carries a long-barreled weapon, before they open fire on the church from an entrance facing the street and storm inside.
