Rodri sent a clear message to the Barcelona locker room ahead of Sunday’s big Clásico, warning that Real Madrid’s recent inconsistency should not fool anyone. The Spanish midfielder, who transferred from Manchester City to the “Blaugrana” this summer, is preparing for the first Clásico of his career.
“I’ve played against them many times in knockout games, and I’ve realized that one of their greatest strengths is that they make their opponents believe they aren’t that good,” he said. “They don’t fool us—or at least they don’t fool me. Real Madrid is always a formidable opponent, regardless of their current form.”

The 30-year-old midfielder also didn’t hide his excitement about his first derby against Barcelona’s archrival. “I’ve seen it many times on TV. When I was a kid as a fan and later on, following both teams. It’s always a special game, no matter which side you’re on, so I’m really happy.”
Rodri also touched on the role he believes he has taken on with his new team, noting that his experience and leadership are the most important things he can offer. “I think what I bring to the team most of all is my experience, my leadership, organizing my teammates, and trying to instill a positive mindset in them,” he emphasized.
