Nusret Altınbaş, owner of Altınbaş Holding, against whom an arrest warrant had been issued, turned himself in to Turkish authorities investigating the pension fund scandal in Turkey.
According to Turkish media, Nusret Altınbaş’s brother, Inan Altınbaş, had also been taken into custody earlier in connection with the same case, while the assets of the members of the families involved have been frozen.

As part of the same investigation, which concerns illegal transactions in the capital markets, 15 more people were arrested, including the former general manager of “Turkish Insurance” (Türkiye Sigorta) and the Pension Fund (Türkiye Hayat Emeklilik), Taha Çiakmak.
Meanwhile, Ertan Aydın, a former advisor to the Turkish president, who was also facing an arrest warrant, was brought before a judge.
